EQUUS Foundation Equine Experiential Learning Initiative (EELI)
Internship Application
This internship, funded by the EQUUS Foundation, is an excellent opportunity to learn about the horse/human bond, the long history of humans and horses together, and the therapeutic benefits of interacting with horses. Prior horse experience is welcome but not at all necessary! What is necessary though is a keen interest in learning — through a self-directed online module and a variety of on-site experiences with our professional facilitating staff and our wonderful herd of therapy horses.
The minimum internship commitment is 25* hours — with approximately half as online academic-style learning and half as on-site experiential learning with the horses. Internships occur March through May and there is no compensation for interns. Please note that we are only able to admit a handful of interns into this program.
*We would like to have interns who are also available during weekday hours. These internships would be much more in-depth, with additional experiential learning opportunities and offering more hours.
