Sponsor a horse and become a
Project Horse Herd Hero!
Happy, healthy horses are a huge part of what make the programs at Project Horse successful. Sponsoring a horse is a unique opportunity to make a difference by directly helping a member of our healing herd! Our rescued horses have a home for life and many rely on maintenance medications and supplements in addition to normal upkeep expenses including feed, hay, farrier, dental and veterinary needs.
By becoming a Herd Hero, you can direct your donation dollars towards the ongoing care of a horse of your choosing. Sponsorships make great gifts to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions. Not only is this a great gift idea, but a wonderful program for school kids, church groups, and business organizations! Pick your special horse and become a part of this rewarding experience!
Be Jack's Herd Hero!
The anchor of our Mobile Minis™ herd, Jack came to Project Horse with some health challenges. He has digestive issues that require him to be on a probiotic supplement, which helps him greatly. More seriously, Jack has asthma, which means we need to keep his activity levels within certain limits. We also need to keep special medications on hand for Jack in the event he has an asthma attack.
Sponsorship funds directed towards Jack will contribute to routine wellness and daily care costs as well as his medications and digestive supplement.
Be Reeses' Herd Hero!
Reeses story of how she came to be the Project Horse Co-Founder details just how physically depleted she was due to neglect. She is now a healthy and happy senior mare, and to help keep her that way she requires several maintenance medications: one for her Cushings and one for her osteoarthritis. Both of these medications are costly and she must take them for the rest of her life.
Sponsorship funds earmarked for Reeses will contribute to the overall cost of her care plus her medications.
Be Uncanny's Herd Hero!
The eldest member of our healing herd, Uncanny is a vibrant and loving co-therapist. Uncanny has a condition called hind-gut acidosis which is exacerbated by the consumption of hay - a hard thing to avoid when you are a horse! Fortunately, we are able to manage her acidosis with diet modification as well as a fantastic digestive supplement. She also takes maintenance medications for Cushings and osteoarthritis, all of which she will need for the rest of her life.
Sponsorship funds directed towards Uncanny's care will go towards her daily care requirements as well as help to cover her medications and digestive supplement.
Be Foster's Herd Hero!
Foster has persevered through some very tough times health-wise. In 2013, Foster had to have emergency colic surgery, and in 2010 and 2015 he required eye surgery to help combat a condition known as Equine Recurrent Uveitis. Foster requires special digestive and nutrition supplements, as well as several medicated eye ointments. He will need to receive these supplements and medications for the rest of his life to ensure he remains healthy.
Sponsorship funds for Foster will be directed towards his special supplements and medications as well as his routine care costs.
Be Fudge's Herd Hero!
Fudge is the youngest member of the healing herd and she started out life as a healthy horse. She later developed moderate to severe reactions to common allergens and now requires on-going immunotherapy (allergy shots) in order to get relief. She also now requires a special diet, special shampoos and skin conditioners, and additional medications to help alleviate her discomfort.
Other members of our healing herd will be available to sponsor soon! Please contact us if you'd like to sponsor a particular horse.
